Glucose Journal

Terms of use and privacy policy

Updated 27 August 2026.

Glucose Journal is a personal glucose diary. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these policies. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Use

It is for recording readings and the context you choose. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or prescribe, it does not calculate doses, and it does not replace your doctor's judgment. The numbers you see are the ones you type; we do not interpret your diabetes.

Follow your doctor's advice to manage and understand your glucose levels, and on how and when to take readings. Any health decision is yours and your clinician's, not this website's.

You are responsible for what you log and for not sharing your password. The demo account (username demo) is shared and only for trying the app: do not store real personal or clinical data there.

Do not use the service to harm anyone, impersonate others, extract other people's data or overload the system. We may suspend or delete accounts that do so, or that clearly abuse the diary.

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of unbroken availability. There may be outages, backups or feature changes. We are not liable for harm from a brief failure, a mistyped reading, or a report you send to someone else.

What we store

Only what you enter or what the account needs in order to work:

We do not ask for a national ID, we do not connect to meters or social networks, and we do not fill in the diary for you.

We do not sell or hand over your data

We do not sell your data. We do not rent it. We do not give it to third parties for advertising, marketing, commercial profiling or other people's mailing lists. Your glucose readings and the rest of the diary are not shared with advertisers, data brokers, social networks or marketing-analytics “partners”.

There are no ads on Glucose Journal. We do not use tracking pixels or tools whose job is to sell audiences. We do not build a profile of you for anyone else.

Your data is used only so you can see your diary, charts and the reports you generate yourself. Whoever operates the site may access it only to keep the service running (security, backups, fixing faults), not to exploit it commercially.

We will not transfer the diary to other companies in a change of ownership without telling you, and we will not do so in order for them to use it for ads.

The only exceptions, and only if there is no real alternative: a binding legal duty (a competent authority's request) or a serious threat to the security of the service or of people. Even then, that is not an excuse to put your data on a market.

Outside technical services

The site loads fonts and styles from external services (Google Fonts and the Tailwind CDN). Those providers may see your IP address and basic browsing data when you open the site; we do not send them your diary, email or readings.

Hosting and email, if any, are used by whoever operates Glucose Journal so the site can run. They are not a channel for reselling your information.

Reports and what you share

Reports (print or PDF) are generated for you. If you download them or send them to someone — a doctor, a relative, anyone — that person will see those data. That is your choice; we do not send them on our own.

Retention, security and your rights

We keep the account and diary for as long as the account exists. You can delete readings one by one. To delete the whole account, write from the email on your profile or contact whoever operates Glucose Journal.

We aim for reasonable access protection (hashed passwords, encrypted connection when the site is served over HTTPS). No system is perfect; if you see odd use of your account, change your password.

If the law where you live gives you rights of access, correction or erasure, you can ask us to show, fix or delete what we hold about you, as far as the service allows.

Minors

Glucose Journal is not meant for a child to create an account on their own. If an adult logs a minor's data, they are responsible for having a legal basis and for what they record.

Changes

If these policies change in a meaningful way, we will note it on this page with the update date. Using the service after a substantial change means you have seen it. Glucose Journal remains a personal diary: your data does not become a product just because we updated the wording.
