Predictive CGM Alerts Do Not Improve Glucose Control in Diabetes

A randomized clinical trial of 533 hospitalized adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes found that standard CGM threshold alerts improved time in range, but adding predictive alerts did not provide further glycemic benefit. The finding is clinically relevant because it questions whether more advanced alerts alone improve inpatient diabetes management.
